After the exhibition, the guitars were auctioned off, with proceeds benefiting these charities.. Made of resin. Stanley Mouse and Alton kelley were the premier artists of the decade, creating timeless images advertising the dance hall happenings at the Avalon and Fillmore Ballrooms. Each guitar figurine comes with its own sticker decorated guitar case and stand. From the Guitar Mania collection. The project was a collaboration between the United Way and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. For The Grateful Dead, Stanley and Alton created the timeless rock and roll icon, "Skull and Roses." Guitar Mania, a public art project in Cleveland, featured 10 foot high decorated fiberglass replicas of Fender Stratocaster guitars, designed and painted by celebrities and artists.
